Element Markets, LLC has entered into to a deal with Dekalb County, Georgia to manage biogas from the county’s landfill and any Renewable Fuels Standard Renewable Identification Numbers (RINs) and California-based Low-Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) credits generated from the project.
The project will capture methane gas from the landfill that will then be converted into compressed natural gas that will be used onsite. Any remaining gas will be returned to the open market as CNG or LNG for transportation use. As part of the deal, Element Markets will also manage the generation and marketing of the RINs and LCFS credits from that project.
“This is an exciting partnership with Dekalb County, which will enable it to tap a low-carbon emitting fuel source and lower its emissions profile,” Randall Lack, Founder & Chief Marketing Offer said of the project. “We couldn’t be happier about being involved in this project and adding our expertise.”
Element Markets was selected by Dekalb County through a competitive request for proposal process. Terms of the deal were not released.
