  • Greenhouse Markets Analyst - Houston, TX

    Responsibilities:

    - Demonstrate understanding of supply and demand data analytics for greenhouse gas (GHG) markets and effectively present to both internal and external audiences
    - Interface with clients and effectively communicate an understanding of the markets and how Element Markets’ solutions add value
    - Research and communicate to staff new opportunities within existing and emerging markets
    - Help formulate go to market strategies in coordination with team members
    - Support data logging and contract administration
    - Provide analytical support for projects and initiatives to help shape EM’s corporate strategy
    - Research and report on carbon offset protocols—examine new and emerging opportunities for credit generation
    - Work cross-functionally with operations, accounting, legal, and leadership to support internal reporting and financial projections

    Requirements:
    - Bachelor’s degree in finance, engineering, or environmental science field
    - 0-3 years of work experience
    - Demonstrated analytical process thinking and problem solving – prior professional experience, internships and/or collegiate research a plus
    - Successful project/task management track record. Attention to detail is a must
    - Strong skills and proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Data analysis/visualization experience is highly preferred
    - Excellent written and oral communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to communicate analytical data and technical information into layman’s terms
    - Facility or familiarity with commercial frameworks (preferred)
    - Knowledge of relevant regulatory environmental policies and markets preferred
    - Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Houston area. Position remote to start

  • Emissions Analyst - Houston, TX

    Element Markets’ Emissions Desk helps our clients understand and navigate the emission (credit) markets throughout North America, which means we must be experts in and operate at the intersection of energy and environmental policy at state and federal levels. We are the foregone leader in this space, combining the innovation of an engineer, the acumen of an investor and the power of a financier. The Emissions Analyst will have a chance to be a part of this core team within the company which includes established experts in these markets, providing ample opportunity for learning and professional growth.

    Responsibilities:
    - Manage emissions data collection from projects nationwide
    - Engage with and understand state and federal agencies’ requirements for reporting, permitting, and additional relevant air quality-related matters
    - Provide analytical support for customer projects in addition to initiatives to help shape EM’s corporate strategy
    - Research and report on emissions protocols along with state and federal energy and environmental policies, rules and regulations
    - Work cross-functionally with operations, accounting, legal, and leadership to support internal reporting and financial projections
    - Support activities related to emissions campaigns and related environmental conferences
    - Conduct market research to identify new opportunities that would be a natural extension of the products and services provided by the Desk.

    Requirements:
    - Bachelor’s degree in environmental, chemical, or other relevant engineering, finance, or related discipline
    - 0-3 years of work experience
    - Strong work ethic and flexibility to manage periods of intense workload
    - Demonstrated analytical process thinking and problem solving – prior professional experience, internships and/or collegiate research a plus
    - Successful project/task management track record. Attention to detail is a must

  • Accounts Payable Specialist - Houston, TX

    Accounts Payable Specialist: The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and the ability to accurately track and record invoices. This candidate should have experience in maintaining a database of financial information and be able to recognize and work to solve any problems that may arise. Lastly, where appropriate this candidate will track and process 1099s.

    Responsibilities:
    • Coding and posting daily invoices, ensuring all invoices are paid on time
    • Setting up payments (ACH, wires)
    • Posting daily bank transactions (incoming and outgoing payments)
    • Posting and reconciling monthly credit card statements
    • Month-end close activities including prepaids, general ledger (GL) entries, reclassification, and accruals
    • Sales tax reporting and compliance
    • Accounting document and records maintenance
    • General ledger work related to month-end close
    • Account reconciliations
    • Other ad hoc duties as requested

    Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
    • 1 - 2 years in accounting or related field
    • Strong understanding of general ledger system and accounts payable processing
    • Strong organizational, analytical and recording skills
    • Detail-oriented
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, NetSuite experience is a plus
    • Ability to work with others in a fast-paced environment

  • Origination Analyst - Environmental Markets

    The Analyst will be responsible for preparing presentations for managers and customers; work closely with regulatory compliance experts; develop financial models; and provide due diligence and analysis. The best candidate will have at least a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Sciences, or Finance with 1-3 years of related experience. Must be able to work well with people and be self-motivated. Business Development, Energy, Finance, or Regulatory Affairs experience a requirement. Analyst candidates are bright entrepreneurial persons able to perform in a combination finance/research role.
