  • Settlements Analyst - Houston, TX

    The settlements team is the main interface between origination, operations, and accounting, responsible for managing asset inventories, transfers, and retirements.

    Responsibilities:

    - Transfer and retire carbon and emissions credits on time per contracts
    - Maintain and relay inventory status for all carbon and emissions credits
    - Invoice and verify payments for all sales and purchases of credits
    - Ensure accounting platform (NetSuite) is up to date on all data regarding transfers, sales, and purchases of credits
    - Liaise with the accounting team to ensure that all transfer of data is accurate and correct

    Requirements:

    - Familiarity with common accounting practices
    - Experience with a programming language (such as VBA, python, c-sharp, c++)
    - Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
    - 1-3 years of work experience
    - Demonstrated analytical process thinking and problem-solving
    - Excellent attention to detail skills required
    - Proficiency with Microsoft Excel a must
    - Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Houston area
    - Must be legally eligible to work in the United States

  • Greenhouse Gas Markets Analyst - Houston, TX

    - Demonstrate understanding of supply and demand data analytics for greenhouse gas (GHG) markets and effectively present to both internal and external audiences
    - Interface with clients and effectively communicate understanding of the markets and how Element Markets’ solutions add value
    - Research and communicate to staff new opportunities within existing and emerging markets
    - Help formulate go to market strategies in coordination with team members
    - Support data logging and contract administration

    Requirements:

    - Bachelor’s degree in finance, engineering, or environmental science field
    - 0-3 years of work experience
    - Demonstrated analytical process thinking and problem solving – prior professional experience, internships and/or collegiate research a plus
    - Successful project/task management track record. Attention to detail is a must
    - Strong skills and proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Data analysis/visualization experience is highly preferred
    - Excellent written and oral communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to communicate analytical data and technical information into layman’s terms
    - Facility or familiarity with commercial frameworks (preferred)
    - Knowledge of relevant regulatory environmental policies and markets preferred

  • European Regulatory Affairs Manager - Europe

    Responsibilities:

    - Monitor EU-level policymaking as well as the sustainability-focused regulatory and market developments of EU Member States and the UK, with a focus on the Western European region (e.g., Germany, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Spain)
    - Place emphasis on renewable fuels and emissions trading-related marketplaces and their regulatory environments, such as various biotickets, the EU ETS, UER’s, etc.
    - Map out how Element Markets’ expertise, relationships, and market positions translate to opportunities in the European compliance markets
    - Identify sustainability-focused value chains between the US and the EU and provide Element Markets leadership with recommendations on how to gain entry to these value chains and establish new ones
    - Assess the impact of the changing regulatory environment on the business. Interpret external market and regulatory developments and provide advice to management on impacts, including business development opportunities
    - Design and implement engagement strategy for EU Regulatory Affairs. Strategically and proactively network with key stakeholders. Establish and maintain regular contact with politicians, political advisors, industry associations, think tanks, and NGOs
    - Analyze, assess, and promote new and emerging greenhouse gas and carbon intensity reduction laws, regulations, and policies for impact on Element Markets’ existing and new businesses
    - Develop insight into the EU’s regulatory trends in order to develop commercial strategies
    - Recognize regulatory risks, and identify and execute regulatory risk management as it pertains to carbon, renewable and low carbon fuels, hydrogen, and emissions market development
    - Monitor and assess trends on policy and regulatory developments in order to determine business development opportunities as well as other impacts on EM’s business using white papers, industry associations

    Requirements:

    - Bachelor’s degree in management, economics, political science, or related discipline
    - Minimum of 5 years of directly related experience in a regulatory affairs role in the energy industry
    - Demonstrated analytical process thinking and problem solving – prior professional experience, internships and/or collegiate research a plus
    - Excellent written and oral communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information in layman’s terms
    - Deep knowledge of relevant regulatory environmental policies and markets

  • Contracts Manager - Houston, TX

    Responsibilities:

    - Oversee the complete lifecycle of a contract from initial request to execution to eventual termination
    - Prepare, redline, negotiate and finalize confidentiality agreements
    - Negotiate and manage a broad spectrum of commercial, financial and commodities product and services contracts, including Master Agreements and Transaction Confirmations, across various environmental product markets
    - Coordinate with Account Management and Operations to ensure effective communication of renewals and other various milestones
    - Serve as primary counterparty contact for negotiation of confidentiality agreements
    - Assist with preparation of commercial contracts and corporate governance documentation
    - Oversee the continued management and maintenance of Element Markets’ contract management system (Agiloft)
    - Enter, edit, link, and manage contracts in Agiloft, ensuring data quality and accuracy
    - Customize Agiloft reports, queries, and dashboards
    - Act as the main point of contact for Agiloft for all Element Markets users, which includes training employees in the use of Agiloft and working with IT to resolve system errors

    Requirements:

    - Bachelor’s degree in related field or Paralegal certificate required, Juris Doctor preferred
    - 5 or more years of directly related experience
    - Proficiency in contract negotiation
    - Excellent written and oral communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information in layman’s terms
    - Experience managing and maintaining contract management software required, Agiloft experience preferred
    - Demonstrate excellent communication, presentation, time management, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
    - Exhibit honesty, ethical conduct, reliability, resourcefulness, independence, ambition, strong work ethic, and self-motivation, and a commitment to organizational success
    - Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel), document comparison software (Workshare, Change-Pro, etc.), and DocuSign
    - Supports and collaborates with team members and participates in team meetings
