Prior to joining TPG, Marc was Vice Chairman at Social Capital, leading its evolution into alternative financial products beyond venture capital with potential to support portfolio companies across their life cycles, including in credit. Prior to Social Capital, Marc founded a hedge fund, Eaglevale Partners, alongside two former Goldman Sachs colleagues to focus on currencies, commodities and bonds. Early investors of Eaglevale Partners included Lloyd Blankfein, former CEO of Goldman Sachs and Marc Lasry, founder of Avenue Capital. Prior to founding Eaglevale, Marc served as a senior partner at 3G Capital, running a global-macro fund. He started his career on the emerging markets foreign exchange strategy team at Goldman Sachs, later transitioning to the global macro proprietary-trading desk.
Marc currently serves on the Board of Pembroke College Foundation and the Ann Romey Center for Neurologic Diseases, which works toward improving the future of medical science through collaborations with similar organizations and undertakes research aimed at improving quality of treatment.
Marc received his undergraduate degree in Religious Studies and Philosophy from Stanford University, and an M.A. in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Pembroke College at the University of Oxford.
