Mike Stone

Michael Stone is the Chief Investment Officer of The Rise Fund and a Co-Managing Partner of TPG Growth. He is also the Founder and Managing Member of FS Investors, a family office. Prior to that, Mike was a Senior Partner and past President of J.H. Whitney & Co., a diversified manager of alternative investments and the country’s first venture capital firm. Mike is a 1984 Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude graduate of Duke University, and 1988 MBA from Harvard Business School. Mike serves as Chairman of Wilderness Holdings, Element Markets, and several public companies. He serves on the boards of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, the Madison Council at the Library of Congress, Scripps Research Board of Advisors and Rady Children’s Hospital.
